Children's Christian Formation
Christ Church welcomes your family each Sunday from 10:10 am to 11 am to join our Christian Formation programs. Children ages 3 years through fifth grade meet in the Education Wing.
Our program uses the Episcopal Children's Curriculum for 1st - 5th grade. Younger ages use the Montessori-based Godly Play curriculum. All children share in fellowship with each other and their teachers. A peanut-free snack is provided.
Registration is held at the Christ Church Fair, however children are welcome to join classes at any time. Click HERE for the Registration Form. For more information, call the Church Office at 313-885-4841 or email Rev. Lisa Flores
Mother's Day Out (MDO) is a community outreach function of Christ Church Grosse Pointe. The program serves non-working mothers in the community, giving them, at nominal cost, a respite from the rigors of caring for small children.
The program operates Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 am to 1 pm, with the mothers selecting one or two of the four days per week. MDO follows the Grosse Pointe School calendar.
There are four caregivers who supervise the children and the program can accommodate up to 22 children per day. The children are divided between two rooms, depending upon the age of the child. Mothers send their children with a snack and lunch and are free to pick them up at any time during the four hours of operation. There are a variety of age-appropriate activities for the children including the exploration of dramatic play, creative arts, large muscle development and coordination and language arts.
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)
Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) is an international Christian organization that offers support and fellowship to moms with children ages birth through kindergarten. Moms attend meetings to hear a speaker, engage in organized discussion, complete a creative activity, and network with other moms in the same season of life.
While the moms are meeting, their children are cared for by wonderful volunteers in the MOPPETS program. Children ages 2 and older are taught a Christian curriculum.
MOPS meetings are held from 8:45 11:00 am on the first and third Mondays of each month, from September through May. Moms must register prior to attending, so that their children can be placed in the MOPPETS program. For more information about MOPS in general, please visit www.mops.org. Tracey Torosian, Coordinator
We offer a safe and loving environment for children - birth to 3 years old - while parents are on the Christ Church premises. Sign-in required. We maintain a peanut-free environment.
