The 4th Annual Christ Church Golf Outing in support of Outreach Ministries is once again focused on the support of Bound Together East. This educational enrichment program for children operates out of the Episcopal Church of the Messiah in Detroit and offers tutoring, mentoring, and life skills to suport at-risk elemntary-aged school children in Southeast Detroit.

We at Christ Church are proud to be a primary sponsor of this program. We are also humbled by the dedicated and compassionate work of the staff and volunteers for the Bound Together program. But most importantly we are joyously grateful for the difference it makes in the lives of children. This is a program that makes a difference.

In 2005, Christ Church celebrated its 75th Anniversary. As part of the year's celebration activity, the First Christ Church Golf Outing was held and a new tradition was established.

All proceeds from the 2005 Golf Outing, held at the Lochmoor Club, supported Outreach Ministries, specifically, Alternatives For Girls, a program for homeless and high-risk girls and young women.

The Second Golf Outing was held again at the Lochmoor Club, and the Outreach Ministries recipient was Crossroads of Michigan, a non-profit ecumenical social service organization under the auspices of the Episcopal Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Detroit.

Proceeds from 2007's outing benefited Bound Together East. This program is an extension of the Bound Together Program, born in 1994 at All Saints Pontiac. In the past 13 years, the afternoon tutoring program has thrived and grown as a model which we, at Christ Church Grosse Pointe and The Church of the Messiah, are now emulating.

The Christ Church Golf Outing is a popular event to which all parishioners are invited. Even if you don't play golf, there are many ways to participate in the outing. This is a way to celebrate fellowship with other parishioners and friends.
