The mission of Christ Church First is to promote a giving culture at Christ Church and we welcome your support of the church with your time, talents and treasure. We support the ideal that our first fruits should go to the Lord by putting Christ Church First in our lives. Every pledging member of the church is a part of this ministry, and we encourage 100% participation in this effort. We hope that all members will eventually reach the biblical standard tithe of 10% of our income. We are thankful for any and all gifts that we receive in the name of the Lord.
Conservation Trust Fund
Established January 26, 1987, the Conservation Fund is a Trust, the income of which shall be "used solely for the purpose of providing major repairs to, and remodeling, renewals, replacements and expansions of, the equipment and furnishings of said buildings, it being the intention here that none of the assets of said Trust shall be used for ordinary repairs and maintenance expenditures that have a useful life of less than one year." The trustees include the Rector, Senior Warden, Treasurer, Chairman of Buildings and Grounds, and three trustees appointed by the Senior Warden to six year terms which run beginning every two years.
Gifts, Acquisitions and Furnishings Committee
The purpose of the Gifts, Acquisitions and Furnishings Committee is to determine and oversee the administration of the parish policy regarding gifts-in-kind and monetary gifts to be used in the furnishing, decoration, refurbishing of the objects, furniture, carpets and artwork in the buildings and on the grounds of the parish.
The function of the Investment Committee is to oversee the investment of the endowments and lay pension plan of the church. The committee has established written investment goals and policies for these funds. To assure that these goals are met it (1) selects and monitors the performance of professional investment managers; (2) seeks to assure that the funds provide competitive returns over full market cycles: (3) manages funds donated to the endowments in accordance with the intent of the donors; and (4) by utilizing good management practices seeks to encourage growth of the endowments through future gifts and bequests.
Planned Giving / Arimathaea Society
Named for Joseph of Arimathaea who provided the tomb for the body of Jesus, the Arimathaea Society exists to acknowledge those who have remembered Christ Church in their estate planning.
Estate planning is not only important for those of substantial means but includes all of us whose insurance policy or home left to the church can realize estate tax savings and assure the future of Christ Church.
Becoming a member of the society is simple. Notify the church that you have included a gift in your will or estate plan and indicate whether you want your name to be published as a society member or prefer to remain anonymous.
To advise the parish you have made provision for Christ Church in your planning, please call Theresa Muzzi, parish administrator at 885-4841 ext. 111.
