The vows taken with the Baptismal Covenant commit us to live our faith in the world. And the festive celebration of Holy Baptism is one of the most joyful occasions for the entire Church. It is offered to church members of all ages. Holy Baptism is normally administered within the Eucharist as the chief service on Sunday. As the Book of Common Prayer suggests, we usually celebrate baptism at the Easter Vigil, on the Day of Pentecost, on All Saints’ Day (or the Sunday after All Saints’ Day), on the Feast of the Baptism of our Lord (the first Sunday after the Epiphany), and on Sundays when the Bishop is present. We offer adult baptismal candidates classes in preparation for this momentous commitment. Parents who wish to baptize children should be active members of this, or some other congregation, in order that they can carry out their promise.
