The Reverend Drew Van Culin


Fr. Van Culin was installed as the 10th Rector of Christ Church on May 14, 2013.  As the Rector, Fr. Drew serves as the chief priest, pastor, teacher, and host of the Christ Church community, is the chief custodian and advocate of the vision of Christ Church, is entrusted with the administration, execution, and oversight of the programs and assets of Christ Church, and provides leadership, direction, and supervision to the Christ Church staff.


Joseph Daniel

Executive Assistant to the Rector

Joseph Daniel joined the Christ Church staff in December 2017. Though mostly known to the congregation as the Honorary Artist in Residence, Joseph has long had an aptitude for administrative work. In his role as Executive Assistant to the Rector, Joseph works closely with Fr. Drew on many projects and ministries of Christ Church. His primary duties include calendar oversight, volunteer liaision, project management, and staff relations.


Scott Hanoian

Associate for Worship and Liturgy, Director of Music and Organist

Scott Hanoian joined Christ Church as the 8th Director of Music and Organist in 2007 and is responsible for continuing the tradition of musical excellence at Christ Church Grosse Pointe.  As the Director of Music, Mr. Hanoian directs the church's three liturgical choirs, the Choir of Men and Boys, the Choir of Men and Girls, the Christ Church Schola, as well as the Christ Church Chorale, and oversees the yearly concert series.  Mr. Hanoian is also an active organist, accompanist, continuo artist, conductor, choral adjudicator, and guest clinician.

Diane Ward

Associate for Finance and Administration

Following her retirement as CEO of the Red Cross of Southeast Michigan (Blood Division), Diane joined the Christ Church leadership team as the Associate for Finance and Administration.  In her capacity as the Associate, Diane oversees all matters pertaining to the business administration of the Church ensuring sound stewardship and effective management.

The Reverend Canon Ronald Spann

Assisting Priest and Director of the Christ Church Spirituality Center

A licensed PRH educator (Personality and Human Relationships), Ron serves as spirituality faculty for CREDO, a clergy wellness initiative of the Episcopal Church. He is a facilitator and curriculum developer for the Sustaining Pastoral Excellence grant to Detroit’s Ecumenical Theological Seminary. Now retired from pastoral ministry, Ron served for five years as associate rector of Christ Church Cranbrook, and for 25 years as rector of the Church of the Messiah in Detroit. He is an Honorary Canon of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul.

Marianne Grenier

Bookkeeper (Part-time)

Marianne joins the Christ Church team with more than twenty years of experience in bookkeeping.  For the last seventeen (17) years, Marianne served as the bookkeeper for St. John Lutheran in Fraser where she handled accounts payable, accounts receivable [including school tuition], bank reconciliations, and payroll.  She resides in Chesterfield Twp. with her husband James.

Christ Church Vestry

The Vestry is called to embody, articulate, and advocate for the vision within the parish and community, and to develop, and be chief stewards of, the resources needed to sustain and expand the ministry of Christ Church. Operationally, the Vestry delegates the administration of Church resources to the Rector and staff of Christ Church.
