The Advent Procession
Sunday, November 29, 4 pm
In the quiet anticipation of the Advent season, we retell the story of Christ’s coming. As you enter the church, you will see the Advent Wreath, whose purple candles symbolize the four weeks of Advent, and the candle in the middle symbolizes the nativity of Christ. We are told by John that Christ is the light who comes into the world to lighten our darkness. Through the poetry of the ancient prophets, you will experience the joyous expectancy and longing given voice by the church from its earliest days.

Choral Evensong
The service of Evensong (or sung Evening Prayer) is drawn almost entirely from the Bible: Psalms, lessons from the Old and New Testaments, and Canticles (songs of praise from the Scriptures). Music is an integral part of this service, and the choirs offer sung prayers to God on behalf of the people of God. Free and open to the public.
